Internet domination in three short years

Via Techcrunch, a stunning tidbit from Morgan Stanley’s Internet Trends report for 2008:

6 of the top 10 internet sites are social (youtube, live.com, facebook, hi5, wikipedia, orkut); none were on the list in 2005.

The overwhelming conclusion is that social apps are the future of the Internet. It makes you wonder what the next big social app will be, the next big thing that no one currently sees. Are you working on it? Am I? If you are in on it, don’t sell out too soon. Hang on and grow your property, because my hunch is that the social web has only just begun.
