Inspired by design - March 26 2008 edition

I believe that the right design is everything to a product, and yesterday was a great day for reinforcing that belief. First up, check out Muxtape (thanks Gruber!), an amazingly simple and useful online mixtape / music discovery service. The interface is big and friendly, and you can navigate between songs with the up and down arrow keys, enter to pause. Cool to the tune of 8,685 users / 19,731 songs / 35,000 visits / $118.17 on S3 in the first 24 hours. Wow. Justin, the guy behind Muxtape, has a habit of creating cool minimalist interfaces. Check out his Tumblr, his photo site, and this about page. Next up we have the amazing new asaph microblogging software (be sure to check out the demo). Then we have this beautiful Facebook app from Vimeo. It’s amazing that they did this sans iframe, all with fbml, fbjs, and custom css. Then check out i’m in like with you, an amazing flash-based social network / game arcade / hangout. It’s actually really fast and usable. To top it off, check out these cool icons. Great design is yum.
