I love Gigya
Gigya is a wonderful widget distribution service, with perfect positioning in their market. They don’t host your widget, you do that. They offer you a widget for your site that lets your end users inject your widget code into their social destination of choice (without leaving your site, without a pop-up window). See it in action at 5min.com (try injecting the video into your MySpace page, etc, that’s Gigya functionality). This is an example of a perfect solution to a very specific and persistent need. Instead of multiple content sites having to develop their own way to auto-inject their widget code into the myriad of social networking sites, they can let Gigya handle that specific functionality for them.
The great thing for Gigya is that they were able to corner a large part of this market by meeting this very real need in a perfect way. They already offer publishers real-time stats. I can’t wait to see what other value they can add next. I also can’t wait to see how they are going to make money. ![]()
