Have you tried the peace drug?
I just read a fascinating Washington Post article on PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and the use of Ecstasy as an aid in treating it. The article is mostly glowing in its assessment of Ecstasy, but even if you are totally against drug use, the insights into PTSD are worth the read. I’ve never done drugs, not even pot, but frankly, some of the customer reviews of Ecstasy are so amazing that I am tempted to put it on my “things to try” list. And I’m scared of drug use. I don’t want to hurt myself or other people by becoming a junkie. But Ecstasy doesn’t sound like that sort of drug at all, which got me to thinking - if a drug can boost your mind and make you feel more peaceful, loving, empathetic, insightful, and positive - all without damaging your brain or impairing your function - isn’t that something amazing that should be heralded? What if our evolutionary development made us more negative by default? Who says that the basic state of our unaided minds is the best way to be?
