Behold Neave.tv, the best internet tv interface
Neave.tv has, in my humble opinion, the most compelling internet tv interface I’ve ever seen. It’s done in flash which means you can view videos full screen or smaller, and switch between the sizes on the fly by hitting “f” on your keyboard. When you move your mouse over the lower part of the screen, a tabbed menu appears showing you videos that you can play. When you click on a new video, the video that’s playing pauses and flickers a bit like you’re watching with an old tv set, and then the channel changes and your new video loads surprisingly quickly. The flash interface even works properly with the browser’s back button. Neave aggregates flash video sources from all over the net, but it doesn’t as yet provide a way to search for new videos or save your favorites into a shareable channel. I’m betting these features will be added soon though. I can totally imagine watching internet video like this on my TV using Apple’s upcoming iTV device.
