Indie film excitement

Has there ever been a more exciting time to be an independant? In every field I can think of from web startups, to musicians, to fashion labels, to indie film makers - there is reason to rejoice like never before. With the power that the internet gives you to spread ideas, there’s no reason not to be an independant. The barriers are gone, leaving nothing between you and millions of other netizens but your own lack of creativity (not saying you have a lack though ). Take Netflix for instance. They are a longtail business that is enabled through the internet. And as this awesome Wired article illustrates, they are making it much easier for indie filmmakers to get their movies out to a receptive audience. Mix in a great blog and YouTube campaign, and you’ve got true Indie film excitement!
