How to launch a spectacular web 2.0 failure

I just found this hilarious and insightful post on how not to launch a Web 2.0 site. Marcos rips poignantly about how you must alienate your users by requiring them to jump through multiple registration hoops in order to use your site. He also instructs you to make sure to use an unintelligible domain name like “del.icio.us” or “project.ioni.st” in an effort to keep pesky users at bay and hosting costs down. Seriously though, go read his whole riff on requiring user registration. It’ll probably make you laugh out loud!
